Puppy Separation Anxiety

As dog parents we all worry that our fur babies will develop separation anxiety especially once we go back to our normal lives post Covid-19. Learn how to prevent separation anxiety and start working on it earlier on. Some things that have worked for me are:

-Ignoring my puppy whenever I leave the house. Don't make a big deal about it and just walk out of the door.

- Leaving a fun toy, bully sticks, kong with something yummy, lick pad, etc in her crate to keep her busy while I'm gone.

- Leaving a shirt or piece of clothing that smells like me to comfort her.

- Ignore her for a minute or two whenever I get home. Don't make a big deal about you coming back because that shows them that you being gone is a bad thing.
